1 | [IN 2015, when asked about her former "Young and the Restless" costar Brenda Dickson controversial statements on working with the late Jeanne Cooper and William J. Bell] Brenda was, in my opinion, always very complicated and bigger than life. We were never close, although she was always very nice to me, but we did not work many times together. I am really conflicted about what to say about her, because she was always nice to me. But there were antics! She honestly was not easy on people, and she was not easy to work with, and she was not a giving, generous actress, and she was very, very ego-driven in terms of how she was treated there, and it made it hard on everyone else. I saw her at the Emmys just a few years ago, and it was nice to see her, and she was very pleasant. But she seems to be a person who has always had an agenda. I have not read Brenda's book, and I am sort of not going to. This is pretty candid, and I hope that it doesn't hurt anyone's feelings. But I really feel like she waited until no one could defend themselves to come out with several issues in her book that are hurtful to others, and just as a person, I feel like that cheap, I'm not saying that Brenda is cheap, but I feel that the gesture is cowardly. If she had those stories to tell and axes to grind, the appropriate, mature, and brave thing to do is talk about those things when others can either comment, defend themselves, or rectify it. It seems to be me too-little-too-late, and I'm so sad to see the wake of pain and hurt feelings that some of her stories in her book have caused to the family members left behind that don't have any answers but this brings a great deal of hurt to them. I feel it's not very brave and kind of a cheap shot. So I chose not to put that on my radar. |
