She’s his new Mc-Enemy.
Former President Donald Trump has turned on his one-time White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany — accusing her of inflating poll numbers for his key Republican rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on FoxNews,” Trump fumed on Truth Social late Tuesday, just after his longtime supporter appeared on Jesse Watters’ Fox News show.
Milktoast appeared to be a misspelling of “milquetoast,” a term for a timid or meek person.
“I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up,” he said, using his nickname for the Florida governor running against him for the Republican nomination for president.
“While 25 is great, it’s not 34,” he said, without mentioning how McEnany had said that it showed Trump was “hugely ahead.”
“She knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll. The RINOS & Globalists can have her,” he wrote, with the former an acronym meaning “Republican in name only.”
“FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!” Trump added in a final dig at his once-favored adviser, who was also his press secretary for his failed 2020 re-election campaign.
McEnany, now a co-host on Fox’s “Outnumbered,” had only highlighted ever-changing polling numbers to reflect how “the DeSantis team would say we’ve just had polling come out that shows we’ve closed by nine points” in Iowa.
“Still, Trump’s hugely ahead,” she said, again stressing that any suggestion that DeSantis is creeping up on him is “just their argument.”
