Tracey Edmonds is setting the record straight on the ending of her engagement with Colorado Buffaloes football coach and NFL legend Deion Sanders.

Edmonds and Sanders called off their engagement on Dec. 3 in a joint statement, but on Sunday she wanted to clear up some misconceptions that were floating around.

“I want to clarify that it was my decision to end the relationship, despite any different narratives being presented,” Edmonds posted on Instagram, according to PEOPLE.

“I’ve chosen to prioritize myself and my family, moving forward towards a future where I am valued, treated with honesty, and free to embrace the happiness and respect I deserve.”

In the caption, she added that she hated “to have to respond to the media, but sometimes it’s necessary when the falsehoods get out of control!”

The post was mysteriously taken down late Sunday night with no explanation as to why.

The couple originally met in 2012 at a movie premiere party for a film that Edmonds had been a producer on.

They announced their engagement five years ago in 2019.

Sanders and Edmonds called the decision to end their relationship a mutual agreement that was made “with love in our hearts, respect for each other and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together,” according to PEOPLE.

The football coach wrote in the comment section of the breakup announcement a tribute to his relationship with the TV and film producer.

“I appreciate the times we’ve shared and the laughs we’ve had. You are an amazing woman and a tremendous mother,” Sanders wrote. “God bless u with every endeavor and every step u take. You are HER. Tracey-Mack!!!”

All of this comes as Sanders looks to start building toward the next college football season.

Colorado finished 4-8 in Sanders’ first season at the helm of the football program.

One of his main priorities going into next season will be to shore up the offensive line, which struggled mightly to protect star quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Colorado did land Guard Tyler Johnson and center Yakiri Walker off the transfer portal over the weekend.
